    Job Description:
    As the Show Manager for the Sydney Short Film Biennale by CINEVERSE, you will be the operational heartbeat of the festival, ensuring every screening, event, and guest experience runs smoothly. This role requires a highly organised, people-focused professional who can balance artistic sensitivity with logistical precision.

    You will coordinate directly with filmmakers, guiding them through the submission, selection, and presentation process. You will also assist with judging films, liaising with our panel, and maintaining the integrity of the festival’s standards. On the ground, you will oversee contractors, crew, and venue teams, ensuring seamless delivery of screenings, Q&As, and special events.

    This is a hands-on position at the centre of festival operations. You’ll act as the key link between filmmakers, staff, and audiences — making sure the Sydney edition of Cineverse is as inspiring and memorable as it is efficient.

    Requirements:

    • Must be Sydney-based

    • Must have flexible availability from 9–23 February 2026, and full availability from 19–22 February 2026

    • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask under pressure

    • Experience coordinating events, productions, or cultural programs preferred

  • Key Responsibilities — Show Manager

    • Coordinate with filmmakers throughout the submission, selection, and screening process, ensuring clear communication and smooth logistics.

    • Support the judging process by assisting with film evaluations and liaising with jury members to maintain fairness and consistency.

    • Oversee and coordinate contractors, ground crew, and venue staff to deliver seamless screenings, Q&As, and festival events.

    • Manage daily festival operations on site, troubleshooting issues quickly and keeping the program on schedule.

    • Work closely with the festival director and production team to ensure artistic vision and operational execution align.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for filmmakers and guests, providing hospitality, information, and guidance during the festival.

    • Maintain accurate records of screenings, schedules, and technical requirements for internal tracking and post-festival reporting.

    • Represent the Sydney Short Film Biennale and CINEVERSE with professionalism and enthusiasm, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all participants.

    • Proven experience in event management, film festivals, or arts programming, ideally in a coordinating or supervisory capacity.

    • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

    • Familiarity with film exhibition processes, including scheduling, technical requirements, and festival protocols.

    We are seeking a highly organized and resourceful Festival Producer & Festival Manager or Festival Host to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the successful planning and execution of the festival, from pre-production through to the event's conclusion. The ideal candidate is an experienced fixer or producer with a passion for film festivals, local contacts, and the ability to manage logistics with ease. This candidate can also have Hosting experience. We asks that prospective hosts have over 2 years in public presenting and speaking.
